Clients’ Rights

As a client participating in therapy with a therapist licensed in the state of Texas, you have certain rights.

Request Health Care Records

You have the right to request your healthcare records at any time. To do so, please email your therapist at the provided email address or submit a request via the contact form of this website.

Requests will be responded to within 48 hours, and healthcare records will be provided within 5 business days of receipt. During times when your provider is out of the office, this timeline will begin once they return and note receipt of the request.

Contact the Behavioral Health Executive Council

Should you wish to contact your therapy provider’s governing council, which in Texas is the Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC), you may do so here.

File a Complaint

You have the right to file a complaint against your therapy provider and may do so at the Office of Attorney General’s Consumer Protection webpage.
